2018 JPS AMI Plan in case of inclement weather and school closings. #CaneInfo

In 2018, JPS will continue to offer an alternative method of instruction for inclement weather for all grades Pre-K - 12th grade.

What does this mean?
If JPS is out of school because of weather, school work will be due at end of each missed day.

How will this work?
Each school will have an AMI or Alternative Instruction Plan posted on their campus site on the JPS website. Attendance will be determined by students' completion of the assignment on the AMI day.

What about teacher participation?
Teachers will be available for student contact or assistance via Google classroom/email or phone. This will vary based on grade level & available technology access. Communication will be from 8am and 3pm.

AMI Days will be the first 5 days we are out of school because of weather.

Traditionally, missed days have been added to the end of the calendar and have proved to be very ineffective. The AMI Days will alleviate or at least minimize student learning loss before required testing.
